July 19, 2011--Chamberlain D’Amanda is expanding with the addition of Leonard G. Florescue, a prominent New York City matrimonial attorney.
Prior to joining Chamberlain D’Amanda, Mr. Florescue was a member of the New York City office of Blank Rome LLP. Mr. Florescue has considerable experience advising clients in the area of complex matrimonial and appellate matters. His clients include celebrities, executives of major corporations and partners in large law and accounting firms, which he will continue to serve in New York City, statewide and nationally.
“Lennie Florescue is very well-known downstate, and we are so pleased to have an attorney with his experience join our firm,” said Edward Radin, managing partner of Chamberlain D’Amanda. Jim Vazzana chairs the firm’s family law department—Jim states: “Lennie Florescue’s matrimonial expertise, specifically in mediation and appellate matters, will enhance the family law practice by offering expanded services for our clients. There are very few mediators in Western New York with the breadth and depth of experience Lennie has and our clients will benefit greatly from his unique expertise”.
Not only does Mr. Florescue mediate disputes between clients (in the traditional way) but his reputation and experience also allow him to act as a quasi-judge when counsel for the parties disagree on the law or on the application of the law to the facts. His views need not be binding, but they generally lead to settlements because the parties and their own counsel look at the case in a new, objective light.
Mr. Florescue states: “I am happy to join such a well-respected law firm, and I look forward to joining one the largest family law departments in upstate New York. I am originally from Rochester so it is wonderful to be back in my hometown”.
Leonard Florescue is a regular columnist for the New York Law Journal. He is a founding member, former President and remains a Member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, New York Chapter. Mr. Florescue is the co-author of a text entitled “Tax Aspects of Divorce and Separation” (Law Journal Seminars Press).
